House Rules

The House Rules created for the World of Tellus are extensive. Each one has been carefully crafted for balance, fairness, and effectiveness. They have all been playtested over the span of several years and can safely be adopted into any game with little hassle. It should be noted that many of these rules were created in order to minimize the rift between martial classes and magical class. That is, all of the best “power classes” are always mages, being that a mage class will quickly overshadow a martial class starting a mid-range levels. From there the expanse only grows until, at high level, the martial classes barely have an effect in combat. Consider the power a 20th level wizard throws around the battlefield compared to a 20th level barbarian; there’s no competition there. To this end, all of the House Rules presented here have been explained as clearly as possible with an added emphasis on detailing why the rule was needed and how it restores this martial/mage imbalance.
