Chronicles of Tellus
The Race Wars collectively lasted from 4638 SR to 4687 SR and were a series of wars ignited by Lord Cyprus DeVane, later known as the Dread Mage of Alduria, when he tried to end the Race of Elves. Initially a war between the Elves and the Scro, after the Elven Holocaust of 4638 SR, all races of Alduria became involved. The combined might of Dwarves, Gnomes, Halflings, and Men could not stop the Dread Mage’s army of Scro. The war ended shortly after the Saviours of Alduria captured the Dread Mage and imprisoned him in Solarion. Lord Cyprus, who was ever determined to follow the law, stayed in his cell and did not try to escape. His scro army, however, had other plans and attempted to sack Solarion so that they could free their master. The Saviours then prevented the fall of the city and ended the war after they convinced the entire race of Gnoll to assault the Scro. The end result was the mutual destruction of the Gnoll and Scro, as well as heavy casualties on the remaining races.
After the war, the Saviours were summoned to Solarion and put on trial for double genocide. The Grand Council of Solarion later acquitted the Saviours of the charges, as they foresaw the rash of riots that would be caused by imprisoning the country’s greatest heroes. Lord Cyprus, who ever had a keen eye for law, took advantage of the ruling and used the results of that trial to bring about his own acquittal. However, the Grand Council saw it fit to banish the Dread Mage from Alduria for the rest of all time. His whereabouts have been unknown since then.
